Aesthetic improvement of the green spaces of the main terminal building at Αthens international airport

Planting and Lighting Design for the planting beds on the Arrivals area. The grounds are to be developed based on themes found in the multi-faceted Greek landscape. Different landscape typologies are constructed with artistic abstraction.

There are scenes of the Mediterranean landscape with its rocks and maquis vegetation, as well as mountainous scenery resembling the hills of northern Greece, and river sides with calm reeds and grasses. Dominant trees are the Cypress and the Olive tree, placed in an artful way, combining on the one hand the stringency of the cultivated olive trees with technical precision with the free standing surroundings in an eye-catching way.

A red, shiny strip runs along all the green spaces, hidden in some and revealing in other, spontaneous and vivid, invoking the sense of Greece’s spirituality.
